Gabriela Manda Seith
curator and art historian
Gabriela Manda Seith is a curator, writer and art historian based in Sarajevo and Berlin. At the Freie Universität Berlin she wrote her doctoral dissertation on the “War Art” scene during the siege of Sarajevo (1992–1995) and its international reception. Her work focuses on art that engages with war, colonialism and ecological crisis.
She curated the exhibition False Clouds (National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2022), which investigated environmental violence. She has also curated exhibitions at the neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst and Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien in Berlin, the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Goethe-Institut Sarajevo and the Neues Museum Nürnberg.
