Benjamin Kavazović

Benjamin Kavazović was born in Doboj in 1970. His early artistic experience began in Drago Handanović’s sculpture studio, and he took up painting with his teacher Husein Nalić. His first illustrations appeared in the children’s magazine “Neven”. In his father Ahmet Kavazović’s workshop, he worked in screen printing and graphic design.

From 1992 to 1995 he worked as an illustrator, cartoonist and journalist. In 1992 he founded Press Centar Doboj and launched “Glasnik slobodnog Doboja”. He collaborated with “Bosna Est”, “Zmaj od Bosne”, TV Tuzla and TV BiH. He made the documentary “Još krvariš Bosno” for Bosnia and Herzegovina Television in 1994.

He works in illustration, painting, printmaking and art jewellery. He moved to Arbúcies in Spain in 1995 and returned to Sarajevo in 2003, where he lives and works.
