Irfan Handukić

Irfan Handukić was born in Bihać in 1950. He studied fine arts at the Pedagogical Academy in Sarajevo and graduated in printmaking from the Faculty of Education, University of Rijeka, under Professor Josip Butković. He completed postgraduate studies in printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in 1999 under Professor Dževad Hozo. He began doctoral studies in 2002 and earned a doctorate in the methodology of art education at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo in 2008. He is a retired full professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.

In 2018 the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo and the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina jointly published the monograph “Irfan Handukić”. It covers his painting from 1972 to 1997 and his printmaking from 1982 to 2017.
