Maja Žmukić

Maja Žmukić was born in Sarajevo on 5 March 1977. She completed the painting programme at the Secondary School of Applied Arts. She graduated from the Department of Art Education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in 2001, qualifying as an art teacher. Her graduation work, “Ljudsko tijelo i njegov oblik u grafici”, was developed in printmaking with Professors Salim Obralić and Avdo Žiga under Academician Boško Kućanski’s supervision.

She completed postgraduate studies in printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in 2006. Academician Tvrtko Kulenović supervised her theoretical work, “Unutarnji predmet”, and Professor Emeritus Halil Tikveša her practical work. She earned a doctorate at the Faculty of Education, University of Sarajevo, in 2016, researching teaching methods for drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture in the early years of primary education.
