Mersad Berber

Mersad Berber was born in Bosanski Petrovac on 1 January 1940. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana in 1963 under Maksim Sedej and completed postgraduate studies in printmaking at the same academy under Riko Debenjak. From 1978 to 1982 he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.

He participated in group exhibitions from 1961 and held his first solo exhibition at the City Gallery in Ljubljana in 1965. He worked in painting, printmaking, tapestry, illustration, set design and costume design. In 1985 he completed the animated film “Tempo Secondo”. He held nearly one hundred solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Europe, the USA and Asia.
